The Growth Mindset encourages you to enjoy your life regardless of whatever it is you might be going through. It allows you to learn, grow and develop to be the best that you can be. There are so many reasons why you can decide to develop a growth mindset which ranges from wanting to grow and become the best version of yourself as well as improving your work/ business and relationship or love life.

{A growth mindset, proposed by Stanford professor Carol Dweck in her book Mindset, describes people who believe that their success depends on time and effort. People with a growth mindset feel their skills and intelligence can be improved with effort and persistence. They embrace challenges, persist through obstacles, learn from criticism and seek out inspiration in others’ success.

Those who hold a growth mindset believe that they can get better at something by dedication of time, effort and energy. Working on one’s flaws, and the process—not the outcome—are the most important components. With time and practice, people with a growth mindset believe they can achieve what they want. The opposite of a growth mindset is a fixed mindset.}

Here are the benefits of developing a growth mindset;

1. It allows you to be open minded:
Having a growth mindset as opposed to a fixed one will encourage you to be open and free to learn from ideas and opinions that are completely different from yours. Being open encourages you to be confident and not subject yourself to societal stereotypes that can negatively affect you. This boosts your self esteem and you tend to applaud yourself for any milestone or progress you make in the course of your learning.

2. It allows you to be yourself:
The moment you start to be yourself and not try to be someone else, you tend to be happier and even enjoy life more. Growth mindset allows you to be yourself by living one day at a time and understanding the fact that learning takes time. You realize that you don’t have to be perfect because no one else is and if you fail at something you can always try again.

3. It improves your friendships and relationships:
One of the most important element of any form of friendship or relationship is communication and growth mindset helps to develop excellent communication skills. You tend to be more sincere and communicate properly with the people in your life because you understand that no one is a mind reader and if anyone has done something to upset you, you communicate your feelings to them. This simple act will automatically improve your relationship with everyone whether it is a love relationship or a platonic friendship.

4. It improves your mental health:
Developing a growth mindset will encourage you to give yourself the permission to learn from setbacks and not become stressed out or depressed by them. You tend to figure out or trace the cause of your mistakes and learn from them such that whatever it is you are doing wrong, you can stop it and not go back to it again. This will improve your general disposition and improve your overall well-being including your mental health.
